The honest version of how this site gets made, and the lines I won't cross.
Real experience, not theory
This whole site is me learning AI in public. I write about what I actually do, not what I read about. The wins, the mistakes, the things I'd do differently.
If I haven't done it, I don't teach it. I learned that the hard way years ago, chasing tactics that sounded good but that I had never tested myself. Now the work comes first, then the post.
How a post gets made
I use AI to build this site, and I don't hide it. Here's the honest version of how a post gets made:
- It starts with my own experience. A real thing I did, a mistake I made, a question someone asked me. The idea is always mine.
- I draft with AI. I talk through the idea, pull from my own notes, and shape a first draft. The AI is the tool. I'm the one deciding what's true and what matters.
- I make it sound like me. I spent dozens of posts teaching the AI my voice, so the draft lands closer than it used to. I still read it out loud, cut what's off, and fix anything that doesn't sound like me.
- I check the facts. More on that below.
- I run it past a second AI. A different model reads the draft and flags weak spots the first one missed. I take the good notes and ignore the rest.
- I read every word before it publishes. Nothing goes live that I haven't read and approved. The AI never hits publish. I do.
AI does the heavy lifting. I do the deciding. That line never moves.
How I check facts
Anything with a number, a date, a tool name, or a claim about how something works gets checked before it goes live. I don't let AI invent specifics, because AI will make up a clean-sounding detail if you let it.
If I'm not sure about something, I say so, or I leave it out. A guess never gets dressed up as a fact on this site. When I point to a source, I link to it so you can check it yourself.
Keeping it in my voice
AI writing has a sound. Too smooth, too many big words, a list for everything. I strip that out on purpose. I write in plain English, short sentences, the way I'd explain it to a friend over coffee.
If a sentence sounds like a robot wrote it, it gets rewritten or cut. The goal is simple: when you read a post here, you're reading me. The AI stays behind the scenes where it belongs.
Independence and transparency
My opinions are my own. They don't represent any employer, past or present. Here's how I keep it clean:
- I only recommend tools I actually use. If it isn't part of my real workflow, it isn't on the page.
- Some links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what I say. Full detail is on the disclaimer page.
- I don't take payment for positive coverage. Nobody can pay me to call their tool good.
- If I ever run a sponsorship, it gets labeled. Clearly, right there in the content. No hidden ads.
Corrections and updates
AI tools change fast. Prices move, features ship, advice goes stale. I update posts when that happens, and the build-in-public posts stay dated so you can see when they were written.
If you find a mistake, email me. I'd rather fix it than defend it. Real corrections beat looking perfect.
What I don't do
- No fake expertise. I'm not an AI researcher or a guru. I'm a marketer figuring this out a few steps ahead of you.
- No hidden AI. I won't pretend a post was human-only when AI helped, and I won't pass off raw AI output as my writing either. It's a tool I run, not a mask I hide behind.
- No hype. No "make ten grand in a weekend." Building takes time and real work, and I'll tell you that every time.
Who's behind this
My name is Anthony Tran. I'm a marketer in Arizona, not a coder and not an AI expert. By day I'm the marketing director at Beaver Builder, and I've built a few businesses over the years. My wife runs the web design agency we started together.
Here, I'm learning AI in the open and sharing what I find. Not a licensed advisor of any kind, so I share experience and what I'm learning, not professional advice.
