Privacy policy.
Plain English. What I collect. Why. How to opt out. No lawyer speak unless it's required.
Who runs this site
This site is anthonytran.ai. It's run by me, Anthony Tran, as an individual. I'm based in Chandler, Arizona. No agency, no team, no investors. When you email me, you email me.
What I collect
There are a few places information gets collected. Here they all are.
- Email address. If you subscribe to the newsletter, I get your email. That's it. No name unless you give it to me.
- Form submissions. If you contact me through the contact form, I get whatever you write in the form, plus your email.
- Basic analytics. I use a simple analytics tool to see how many people visit, which pages, and from where (roughly). No individual tracking. No identifying you personally.
- Server logs. Like almost every website, the hosting server keeps a short-term log of IP addresses and requests for security and debugging. Standard stuff.
Why I collect it
Your email is only used to send you the newsletter and reply to you directly. It's not sold, rented, or shared with third parties. If you stop wanting it, you unsubscribe and I remove it.
Analytics data is used to understand what posts are working and which pages are broken. It's aggregated. I can't tell who you specifically are from it.
Contact form submissions are used only to reply to you. Period.
Sharing with third parties
I use a few trusted services to run this thing. Your info touches these tools:
- Email platform. My newsletter runs on ActiveCampaign. They store subscriber emails and send the messages. They have their own privacy policy.
- Hosting. The site is hosted through a standard web host. Server logs live there temporarily.
- Analytics. Basic website analytics (pageviews, referral sources). No personal profiles.
I don't sell your data. I don't run ad retargeting pixels. I don't share your email with sponsors or affiliates.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies. Most are technical (keeping the site running). Some are analytics (counting visits). Nothing creepy. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your data. For pretty much everyone, this means:
- See what I have. Email me and I'll tell you what data I have on you.
- Correct it. If something is wrong, I'll fix it.
- Delete it. If you want off the list, you unsubscribe via the link in any email, or you email me and I remove you. Done.
- Opt out of marketing. One-click unsubscribe is in every newsletter email.
If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have specific rights under GDPR and CCPA. I'll honor them. Email me.
Changes to this policy
If I update this page, I'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes, I'll mention in the newsletter. No sneaky rewrites.
